Single Shell Pendants: Kina, Cat's Eye, Kota

One shell, one little pendant. Pick your shell, pick your metal. I beachcomb these myself, except the kina, which came from a kina barren.

• Cat's eye (approx 10–12mm): the little spiral door a sea snail carries on its back (the operculum, if you want the proper word). No two swirls are the same. Hand-set in our signature beachsand stone setting, real sand mixed into sculpted clay and pressed by hand.
• Framed kina (approx 10mm): New Zealand's sea urchin, from a kina barren, where there are too many kina and the kelp forest pays for it. Under all those spines, its delicate pattern was hidden. Now you can see it. Set in a round frame to match your bail, with a beachsand clay back setting.
• Kota wheel (approx 15mm): wheel shells wash up looking like tiny pinwheels. I collect them by the pocketful, one beach walk at a time. Beachcombed on a Far North beach.
