Our dapper participants arrived dressed to the nines! The afternoon affair was held in the elegant Gatsby Room at the iconic Masonic Hotel.

I started the event with a brief history of jewellery and fashion of the 1930's. How the Great Depression and Hollywood played a very important role in the jewellery trends.
It jewellery making time! Each guest were to create a pair of earrings using the rhinestones, faux diamantes and pearls.

Three ladies didn't show up because of cancelled flights. So these Masonic hotel guests felt it was meant to be when showed up last minute to replace them!
Jewellery making is not just for women! It wasn't difficult for this gentleman's wife to convince him to participate. You can tell he loves art deco.
Oh, the bright coloured hats gracing this event! Matches the sunny personalities of their owners!
Scissors and glue were needed to create these masterpieces...

This lovely lady won best dressed. From top to bottom. Authentic hairstyle, makeup. 1930's elegance (PS. She rode her bike to this event so she had to hide her helmet)!
