These paua shells weren’t putting on their usual iridescent show — so we flipped them over and let the silver-plated exterior do the talking instead. Turns out the back of a paua is quietly beautiful too, all texture and ridges and the unmistakable row of holes that make it unmistakably paua. Sometimes the understated side is the best side.
