Who's the Small Shell Now?

Who's the Small Shell Now?

Last year, I made a necklace pairing two juvenile farmed New Zealand pāua shells — one larger and one smaller.

And now, the Pāua Pair is back. This time, in miniature.

The difference in size is intentional. Two little shells, with one mingling beside the other.

They might represent a mother and child, sisters, best friends, partners — or simply two people who belong together.

For me, these shells tell my story as a Mum. Below is an ol' pic of me and the youngest...

Wayyy back when he was my little shell…

Now he has definitely outgrown me.
