Taipa Tidal Treasure
Last week I went to Taipa and managed a brief visit to the beach before heading home — and just before the rain arrived.
The highlight was finding this beautifully bioeroded slipper shell.

Look closely at the pattern.
The shell has been worn away and changed over time, leaving behind all those tiny hollows and irregular markings.
It's so my style — the wabi-sabi idea of finding beauty in things that are imperfect, weathered and shaped by time.
It isn't on my workbench yet, but I have a feeling it will find its way there one day.
In the meantime, here's what is on my workbench this week.

It's always evolving — much like the tidal treasures themselves. Little shells, unfinished settings and half-formed ideas slowly becoming something wearable.
