Back in Kerikeri: I Missed the Cyclone (Whew!)
I'm back in Kerikeri. And apparently just in time — because a cyclone came through while I was away and I completely missed it. Whew.
Just ahead of the cyclone. Barely. My barn studio is still not ready — so I set it up in my Auckland-based daughter's bedroom...

But first — Taranaki. I spent Easter week down there and honestly? It delivered. Sun, surf, good people.

The highlight was entering the Masters SUP Surf Competition. I came second in the Wāhine division. There were three of us. I'm still counting it 🥈...

Travelling always does something to me. It sharpens things. You notice more when you're away from your usual surroundings. And then you come home — and suddenly you see your own place with fresh eyes too.
I'm glad I'm back. The bench is waiting. The shells are waiting.
With sandy hands and a salty heart,
Rina
