There's something so refreshing when a child effortlessly sings.
Today, while helping my Filipino artisans set up their workstation, I gave one of their kids a pack of crayons and a colouring book (haha, ok so that they would not be bugging their parents too much lol).
I enjoyed a song sung by the older daughter. She was singing about a father, heading out sea … to surf (I thought she was going to say go fishing). And then he returns to his family all sunburned & "tutong," the Tagalog word referring to the crispy layer of burnt rice at the bottom of a pot after cooking.
Interestingly, her dad and uncle, are both surf instructors.
…And are both “tutong”
Shell be right,
Rina
P.S. Have you discovered moments of simple joy today? Mine came from the delightful innocence of a childlike song .
