About 7 years ago, I booked a proper photoshoot for my website.
I asked the photographer to shoot me with my surfboard..
And the final shot? Honestly, it was stunning.
But here’s the thing: it didn’t look or feel like me.
Back then, I didn’t really know what my brand was — I thought I had to be like other jewellery designers: perfectly styled, elegant, polished.
But that’s not who I am.
I can be a bit of a rogue.
Rough around the edges.
Messy neurodivergent brain (and hair).
As you can see below in my actual pre and post-surf photos...

And honestly, I’m proud of that I can show these shots.
Because the jewellery I make isn’t polished either.
The "gems" are the shells and nature most people overlook — weathered, tumbled, chipped, riddled with holes and cracks.
…and that’s exactly why I choose them — those flaws are what make them treasures.
Maybe that’s you too — a little weathered, a little cracked, but still a gem.
